He "translates" personal experiences into a visual narrative. The autoportraits deal with such visual cathegories as the space of an image, gaze and memory (in pictures). The artist is interested in visualizing the human relations, the process in time which is unvisible by default. Certain (ritual) repetivity, sharpness and conscious framing, seriality are the means that Reio Aare uses. His work raises questions about Self and humanity, accidental and fatal in human experience and in the image.
